I am just throwing this out there, okay, I’m pretty sure everyone had this rant last night or whatever but it’s genuinely really upset me so I just want to say this.

Right, so I understand that Patrick himself and his music are very different now to what they used to be. Obviously it was never going to be to everyone’s taste. But the thing I can’t get past is that doing the music he does and looking the way he does makes him happy. And under no circumstances should anyone - be it your best friend, someone you hate, someone you admire - be put down and bullied about doing what they love to the point where they don’t want to do it anymore. Honestly, some of the things people say are repulsive, it genuinely makes me angry, because regardless of music taste, what Patrick achieved with Soul Punk was huge for both him and his fans. How dare anyone be think themselves to be in the position to take away from that.

I don’t care if you hate his music, hate his lifestyle or hate anything about him - that’s your problem, not mine - but all I’m asking is that you keep it to yourself. Because how would you like it if someone told you that everything you’ve ever loved, worked hard on or been proud of was “stupid” or “terrible” or that they preferred you when you were unhappy? 

It’s very much a case of the minority ruining it for the majority of us who really appreciate what he does, love his music and want to see more of him. Because now it looks like he doesn’t want to do that at least for a while longer. 

So thank you, bastards, for depriving us of the genius talent that could only come from Patrick Stump, and for upsetting the very genius himself.
